Highcliffe Sailing Club is located at the prime coastal location of Mudeford Quay allowing the club to offer sailing in the sheltered waters of Christchurch harbour and open water sailing in Christchurch Bay. This makes it an ideal club for sailors of all abilities and aspirations.
There are plenty of opportunities for those who wish to sail competitively, with racing every weekend from March to December. ..
Out to sea Catamaran, fast and slow mono hull fleets race, with boats ranging from Lasers, Solo's Musto Skiff , Contenders & Laser 5000 monohulls to F18 FX-ONE & Dart Catamarans.
The harbour fleet is made up of slower handicap boats, including Mirrors, Lasers, Solos and Toppers..
Training sessions are organised for beginners , improvers and racers of all levels ..
The club also welcomes a number of National squad groups also run their training camps based at the club using in 2007 this included laser , Optimist and Cadet world championship teams .
Club Juniors are encouraged to join the growing TOPPER fleet and to take part in regular training sessions and harbour racing
The club has a friendly and informal atmosphere. It is predominantly a family club with members of all ages and from a wide variety of backgrounds. .
The fundamental philosophy is to allow & enable members to sail as much as they wish so the facilities are Open and available as much as they can be, with the club house Open early am to late eve throughout the season.To this aim a few sail lockers were added for use by members in 2007 and boat sharing schemes have been privately initiated .
All members are expected to help with the running of the club, It's a good way to meet people and it's fun to be involved. Membership rates are very competitive and the club has its own dinghy park on Mudeford Quay.
